Microsoft Computer Support Scammers ALERT !!

I got a call from a spoof "Computer support" line at 08:15 this morning. THE EXACT same call as the one in this video below, except that it was a lady (loose term).

The number (probably false) came up on the phone as 02199474577.I did record a little of the conversation which i have saved. I let her rattle on a few minutes before i told her to get stuffed and hung up smile emoticon

PLEASE SHARE this information. These people try to charge between £85 and £150 to "Fix" your "Faulty" computer....they do not! IT IS NOT BROKEN! The instructions regarding pressing keys CAUSES THE ERROR MESSAGES!!

ACLT Bone Marrow and Organ Drive

Called by 02078340997 ? PPI company? Read on....

I was called the other day by an Asian sounding chap who, after telling me who i was (!), then started to bang on about PPI's. Not sure what he was trying to sell/survey/promote, but he was very persistent in asking if we had claimed a PPI mis sell or if we intended too. He also asked if we did decide to claim would it be for a loan or Mortgage?.

After telling him that I was not interested in discussing this with him he rang off, so i did the old 1471 and the number 02078340997 was the number it logged.

Having Googled the number it appears that an awful lot of folks are getting similar calls......but why?

Anyone else had these calls? If so, please leave a comment with your experience after this post and maybe we can shed some light on what these calls are about, or more to the point...what are they up too?

Bogus caller scam warning Lothian and Borders Police are urging the public to remain vigilant following a new bogus-caller scam operating in Edinburgh. A 64-year-old man received a call from a male claiming to be from the Ministry of Justice Department in London. The caller informed him he was due a PPI refund, which he could collect after wiring an administration fee to a lawyer in India. However, the man became suspicious and refused to transfer any money. He then contacted police who are warning others not to fall foul of this scam. A police spokesman said: “The issue of PPI refunds is very topical at the moment and these fraudsters are attempting to capitalise on this. ”Anyone who receives a similar call should not provide any personal details or agree to transfer money and should contact police immediately.” Anyone with any information can contact Lothian and Borders Police on 0131 311 3131, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111"

Veteran RAF ex-serviceman savagely attacked - for wearing a Royal Air Force jacket

Is this another example of the disaster area that the UK is rapidly becoming ?.

Now I know that I shouldn't really be too aggressive in my comments, and perhaps I should simply stick to reporting this story as it stands....but what the f**k is the country coming too when an Ex Service Veteran wearing his RAF jacket and a poppy is kicked to crap in a street in the UK?

A veteran ex-serviceman has been assaulted for wearing a Royal Air Force jacket.

The victim, who was also wearing a poppy, was walking along Sherwood Street, Fallowfield, on 1 November 2010 at 6pm when he noticed two men standing near to the entrance of the Fallowfield Loop, near to the junction of Wellington Road.

One man shouted an offensive remark about soldiers - and when the 69-year-old victim replied, he was approached from behind and punched in the head. He was then headbutted in the face, leaving him with two black eyes and a swollen nose.

The two men escaped on pedal bikes. The attackers are described as being aged 17-20 years old, and Asian or mixed race.

One man was of stocky build, 5ft 6ins tall, had thin braided hair and was wearing dark clothing. The second man was of chubby build, 5ft 4ins tall, had short shaved black hair and was wearing dark clothing.

Pc Michael Seddon from Greater Manchester Police's Metropolitan Division said: "This was a mindless and brutal attack on a vulnerable member of the community.

"The victim was left extremely shaken and he is still recovering from his injuries."

These 2 wan*ers need to learn a little respect for their elders and I would guess that this old gentleman has more integrity in his arse than this pair have in their whole sorry carcasses. Wastes of skin and bone.
