Car failed MOT today......

.

Sadly Scarlett failed her MOT today due to several problems being found :-(

Loose headlights, a blowing exhaust union, worn suspension mounts and a spot of welding is required on the rear suspension mounting point, oh and both rear wheel bearings require replacement.

As usual this all comes at a bad time, just before Christmas, and only a few weeks after shelling out nearly £500 on "other" repairs.

Still, for a (almost) 24 year old car that does on average between 16-18'000 miles per year it has not cost me a fortune to run, and until now has never needed much more than a regular service.

The parts arrive tomorrow and with a little luck she will be back in service by Wednesday...just the small matter of "how much" still to ponder.....we will see!

Guess who now has a new set of alloys and wheels fitted ?

Glad to report that a deal was struck between john at Wheelcraft and Team Dynamics Alloy wheel manufacturers, and as a result, Scarlet is now wearing a full set of matching "Tornado S" Black alloys!.

I think you will agree that they suit the old girl very well!. Tomorrow we are off to see Biff at Paw-prints graphics in Newark to get the first set of vinyl's fitted...it's all starting to fall into place now!

I must also mention my good friend John at Pitstop Garage in Sleaford who has yet again helped me out with this project by donating 4 brand new tyres free of charge....well i hope they are or I am going to get a big bill next time i see him!....Cheers John :-)

Thanks to the guys at Pitstop .............again ! :-)

Yesterday saw me taking the Scirocco into Pitstop garage in Sleaford (one of my sponsors for S2M).The problem ,as I mentioned in an earlier post, was that the right hand wheel bearing had died a death after our little trip last year, and it has only taken me 11 months to get around to having it sorted :-0.Anyway, as usual the folk down at Pitstop did a great job and sorted it out along with another front suspension bush which was also a little the worse for wear.
Just wanted to say thanks for their continued support in keeping Scarlet going :-).Cheers guys !.
