Been scammed on ebay by Willbay9000 William Peckore

,

Hi Folks. Long time no post.Sorry, been quite busy recently but decided that a recent event which took place demanded for me to post a warning to other potential victims of an ebay scammer named (apparently but not verified!) William Peckore.

It all started when my son requested that i buy him some points to use on xbox live. As it happened i was browsing ebay so decided to see what was on offer.

I found a seller called Willbay9000 who was offering 4200 points for £29.99 and would email the code immediately as payment was made.

My son offered to sell his PSP to fund the purchase so i placed the order via Paypal and waited...and waited..and waited!

2 hours later i decided to request the user information via ebay and was given the name William Peckore and a mobile number of 07565393439 to call. I called several times but each time it was an answephone. I then noticed that 2 negative feedbacks had appeared since my purchase suggesting that the seller was a scammer....mmmm...not good!

I then went to my paypal account and made a note of the sellers details that they had on the invoice.

His email was willia@virginmedia.com and there was another mobile number labeled as being for customer support.....it was a fake unrecognized number! Oh dear!

During the next hour i left a message on the answer phone, emailed via ebay and waited.....nothing.....except that in this time the seller went on-line and changed his user name to hspab3 !! WTF ?

The negative feedbacks began to pile up and by Saturday night they had reached 9! Each victim had lost between £10.50 and £29.99....nice little earner indeed...but it got worse..much worse.

I called Paypal who advised me that because the advert breached ebay rules to do with delivering codes via email, paypal would not directly refund me the money...i would have to go to my bank to seek a refund....oh joy!. But the worst part was that even though i gave paypal (and their parent company ebay) the heads up on the scammer they still allowed his to keep the advert on the site...until it disappeared at the end of Saturday night....and the result? 29 PEOPLE GOT SCAMMED BY THIS MORON!!

Anyway. I did a little research about MR Peckore (or is that your real name?) and this is what i found out.

In 2012 William Peckore registered a domain name BULKROIDS.COM with Go Daddy .
How do i know it was the same guy? Well he provided this info:

Notice the mobile number and the email?

I checked with Zoopla and the property was sold last in 2002 and not again since then, so i believe Mr Peckore still lives there.

I have used Google street view and now seen 112 London Road (across the road from Leap Cross enterprise park and down the road from the Plumb Centre)

I have a friend who lives a few miles away who is going to verify some details...i will keep you informed :-)

If you have found this post because you have been scammed by this moron, please feel free to comment and we can see if we can "equalize" our situation :-)

Watch out for updates!

UPDATE!! JUST CHECKED AND NOW SHOWING AS "NOT A REGISTERED USER" 12/03/2014

Ebay Fees.......you only need a degree in maths to work them out....

Having just listed an item on Ebay I decided to check what the fees involved in the advertisement would be.....and how I wish i had not bothered.

So here is a small maths test for you.

The item was listed at £300 on a "Buy it now" sale.

The cost of the advert to be put on Ebay was 0.40 pence.

OK so far ?

Now, use this table to tell me how much it will cost me in final value fees if the selling price was £299.......

£300.00 - £599.99

5.25% of the initial £29.99 (£1.57) + 3% of the initial £30.00 - £99.99 (£2.10) + 2.5% of the initial £100.00 - £199.99 (£2.50) +2% of the initial £200.00 - £299.99 (£2.00) + 1.5% of the remaining balance of the final selling price

Anyone got an answer yet ?

If you do....please can you tell me what it is :-)

Rare car for sale on Ebay.Proceeds of sale going to Leukaemia Research (LLR)

Just a quick heads up folks that there is currently a car for sale on Ebay which may interest you.It was a project car for The Mechanics Magazine for several years, and has rather a few "extra's" that you would not get on the standard model.

The car is a 1992 Ford Granada Scorpio 2.0Ltr.

If you fancy a flutter on the auction you will need to be quick as it ends in 2 days or so.Currently the price is sitting just above £500, so still a bargain to be had, and one with some interesting history :-)

Ok.Watch out for my sales on Ebay to raise money for the 2010 project....bargains to be had :-)

After considering the problems that i am having in recruiting sponsors to help with the transformation of the Scirocco to her new "Leukaemia Research big five-o" scheme, i have decided to try and fund some of the costs (mainly the need to purchase 8 alloy wheels!) by selling some of my stuff on Ebay.

I have got quite a lot of things that I could sell, but finding them is going to be fun as I am not what you would call an "organised person"!.

What sort of items will be on offer ? Well small cheap  items such as stickers right through to my limited edition picture of the Sharks Aerobatic team (I was told that only 7 ever got issued!).This picture was one of a small number commisioned to mark the disbanding of the Team in 1992 after defence cuts were announced. To read more about the Royal Navy Sharks Display team history, click HERE to see the Wikipedia entry on the net.

I will be listing items soon, hopefully over this weekend, and I will then post up a link to Ebay for anyone who may fancy purchasing something and as a result, help me to get the 2010 project to the next base.

Update: The picture has now been listed on Ebay.

To see the listing please click HERE to go to the Ebay Site. Thanks :-)

Bought a camera...i love Ebay !

I bought a video camera for the trip on Tuesday, a Panasonic Full sized S-VHS (on the shoilder job !) that uses your standard full size VHS video cassettes. It comes complete with charger, all leads, battery and carry case, all in full working order and for the pricely sum of...wait for it.....£14.99 :-).
Ok, so its about 19 years old, but that still makes it 2 years younger than the car, and a LOT younger than me and i work ok..well most of the time (my boss says i sometimes don't work at all !...what can he mean ?).
The reason for buying such an antique peice of video history ? Well someone on another Blog (realbuzz.com i think) suggested (after i winged that people doing documentries always get more help cos they have a camera crew) that we invest in a camera, not just any camera, but one that looks like a "proffessional" one (is it 2 ff's or 2 ss's...oh well i'll use both !), so that we can appear (to the unannitiated) to be making a documentry during the drive, and thus gain the trust/help of the locals if we need any "favours"....crafty eh ?.....and of course we will be using it to film our progress also !.
Is that the time...damn, that's lunch finished...better get back :-).

Scirocco 2 Morocco 2008

Wednesday 12th December 2008

Not a lot to report really. I had an email from a journalist at the Sleaford Standard newspaper on Monday asking if he could do a story covering our planned trip. I explained that at the mo we don’t really have anything sorted except for some small details such as the justgiving pages (we now have 2).The car is still resplendent in the logo for the Roc Around the Clock adventure, so no point in getting any snaps of her yet and the trailer is still very much in it’s concept stage, nothing more than a “virtual” image exists….I mean we haven’t brought the car back from Derby yet, never mind actually started chopping and cropping! (Or is that “cut and shut”?).
On Tuesday I gave Gary a hand setting up his S2M page, and we decided to call it “Scirocco2Morocco-Air” to set it apart from the page I have started that is tailored to raise money for Leukaemia Research. Glen will hopefully get his page sorted some time this week and he will have the suffix “-Mac” to identify it as being there to raise money for the Macmillan Cancer Support group.

I heard a lady on BBC Radio Nottingham talking to John Holmes this evening. It appears that she is raising money for a cancer charity group in Nottingham, and she hopes to raise 3 million quid eventually through a wide range of events. Coffee mornings, sponsored walks, fashion shows etc, I remember thinking to myself “maybe we are under valuing our event. Maybe we should set our targets a lot higher than the £1500 we have posted on our respective pages….not sure what we should do, will have a think !.

Must sort out getting the donor car sometime in the near future before Paul changes his mind J.
