Moy Park syndicate win £3 Million Lottery Jackpot.

I read in the local paper the other day that a syndicate from the Moy Park Poultry Factory in Anwick (pronounced Anick!) had won £3 million quid on the national lottery.

In a slightly sad twist to the tale it appears that several of the members had only recently pulled out from the group, shortly before their big win. It is also reported that one of the remaining members then "bought up" their stakes in the syndicate, meaning that they will get the lions share of the cash...nice.

Now, as I have never won more than 10 quid on the lottery since the first draw way back when (many years ago!) I can't imagine what it must be like to win such a huge sum of cash, but If (by any miracle) one of the members of the syndicate reads this post can I just suggest one thing.

Give the people who left the group something. Please!

Why? Well Just for one moment think how you would feel if the shoe where on the other foot. I would guess you would be pretty gutted. Now, think of how you would feel in that situation, if one of the winners (or perhaps a small donation by all?) where to bung you a few grand to cheer you up!. Get the idea?

Giving is ALWAYS better than receiving, and the respect you would get for such a generous act would be worth more that al the money in the world :-)

Oh, and if you have a few quid left over I know a bloke in Sleaford with a Scirocco that needs some overdue repairs and is a bit brassed at the mo!...just a thought :-)

RBS (83% owned by the Tax payer) to give £1 Billion in "Bonuses".

So, according to todays newspapers,it appears that whilst the rest of us are tightening our belts, battening down the hatches and trying to make ends meet, those arrogant fat cats at RBS (Royal Bank of Scotland) are getting ready to "reward" themselves for a job well done by awarding themselves a sum, thought to be around £1 billion, in the not to distant future.

I cannot believe the cheek of the useless gits.....exactly what have they done to deserve such a huge cut of TAX PAYERS MONEY?. If it was not for the likes of the normal person on the street paying into the government kitty and thus funding the rescue deal to save their sorry arses, they wouldn't even have a job!.

If this is deemed as acceptable behaviour within a " 83% publicly owned" establishment, then I would like to ask the government what other public services are going to be getting a wad of cash thrown at them for "a job well done"? Not the NHS sadly!. The only job that RBS has done well is to show what a crap and weak Government the UK has these days.

RBS? Maybe it stands for Ruthless B*stard Swindlers......Shame on you.

By the way RBS, What interest rate did you get from the government on your £37 billion+ handout...sorry...loan? I would hazard a guess that It would be a damn site less than the rates that you fleece your customers with!. Also, don't you even feel ashamed that before you have "got your house in order" and paid back your debts, you all give yourself bonuses? And then you have the bloody cheek to talk down to people who go into the red by a few quid!.

Cashback Scam. ALWAYS check your till receipt !

I had this info emailed to me recently.......a very worrying warning!

CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS BEFORE LEAVING THE CHECK-OUT

I bought a bunch of stuff, over £150, & I glanced at my receipt as the cashier was handing me the bags. I saw a cash-back of £40. I told her I didn't request a cash back & to delete it. She said I'd have to take the £40 because she couldn't delete it. I told Her to call a supervisor. Supervisor came & said I'd have to take it.. I said NO! Taking the £40 would be a cash advance against my Credit card & I wasn't paying interest on a cash advance!!!!! If they couldn't delete it then they would have to delete the whole order. So the supervisor had the cashier delete the whole order & re-scan everything! The second time I looked at the electronic pad before I signed & a cash-back of £20 popped up. At that point I told the cashier & she deleted it. The total came out right. The cashier agreed that the Electronic Pad must be defective. Obviously the cashier knew the electronic pad was defective because she NEVER offered me the £40 at the beginning. Can you imagine how many people went through before me & at the end of her shift how much money she pocketed? Just to alert everyone. My co worker went to Milford , Sainsburys last week. She had her items rung up by the cashier. The cashier hurried her along and didn't give her a receipt. She asked the cashier for a receipt and the cashier was annoyed and gave it to her. My co worker didn't look at her receipt until later that night. The receipt showed that she asked for £20 cash back. SHE DID NOT ASK FOR CASH BACK! My co-worker called Sainsburys who investigated but could not see the cashier pocket the money. She then called her niece who works for the bank and her niece told her this. This is a new scam going on. The cashier will key in that you asked for cash back and then hand it to her friend who is the next person in the queue. Please, please, please check your receipts right away when using credit or debit cards! This is NOT limited to Sainsburys; they are one of the largest retailers so they have the most incidents. I am adding to this. My husband and I were in Sainsburys and paying with credit card when my husband went to sign the credit card signer he just happen to notice there was a £20 cash back added. He told the cashier that he did not ask nor want cash back and she said this machine has been messing up and she canceled it. We really didn't think anything of it until we read this email. I wonder how many "seniors" have been, or will be, "stung" by this one????

To make matters worse ...THIS SCAM CAN BE DONE ANYWHERE, AT ANY RETAIL OR WHOLESALE LOCATION!!! BEFORE LEAVING THE CHECK-OUT........CHECK YOUR RECEIPT!!!!!

As we all get caught up in the Christmas rush, please take a few seconds to check your till receipt...it may save you a lot of expense!.
