Hi Honey...I'm Home ........but not a very happy camper.

Well......I am back :-)

No doubt many of my regular readers will be wondering what on earth happened to this blog shortly after my court case regarding the RTA in April 2014. The truth is, after the catastrophic outcome of my claim , which was rejected due to a very good Barrister on the defences side, and ...well lets say, not such a good one on mine!!

I don't want to go into detail on here, but suffice to say the fact that the shock outcome has cost me dearly. Not only have i lost over £6500 in damages, had to endure almost 2 years of stress and financial hardship, but i lost the most wonderful car I think I will ever own....Scarlett the Scirocco :-(

The Ultimate indignity arrived recently. A bill from my "No win,No Fee" legal team...for almost £2800 !!

For what I ask?

Anyway. I won't be talking about this right now except to say that i am taking legal advice from the Legal Ombudsman and a firm of solicitors i have contacted who are very interested in carrying out a review of the entire case ....lets see what they make of the numerous points that I feel need clarification !

The bottom line?

I have a badly damaged Mk2 called Scarlett still sat on my drive and another road worthy Scirocco of the same year, colour and age awaiting transformation to become Scarlett's heir and successor .

I am bruised, battered and angry...but hey, In August I have been living with cancer for 10 years, so life NEEDS to go on and I need to get myself back on track.....I will let the legal experts do their job and hopefully get a few answers as to how this sorry state of affairs came to be .....

Scirocco 2 Morocco.......much more than just a Car !!

Teenage prom queen arrested after pretending she had Leukaemia to raise $17,000

.

Good grief!......how many more low life's are going to try this sick scam?......have they no conscience ?

A prom queen who raised $17,000 after convincing her hometown she was dying of leukaemia has been arrested.
Nineteen-year-old Angie Gomez, from west Texas, told concerned friends, family and even her fiancé she had just six months to live, and the community rallied around her with offers of support.
A police investigation led to the teen's arrest at her place of work on Friday, on a charge of theft-by-deception.

Her fake charity slogan was 'Behind every fighter there is a supporter. Will you be mine?'...Perhaps it should have been "alongside every REAL fighter there is a scammer...can I be yours?"

So..that WAS Christmas!. But I fear we have again missed the point!

.

Perhaps it's just me, but I can't help but think that Christmas now days is all about consumerism and cynical pseudo good will to all men ...well those we can be arsed to speak too anyway!.

Many weeks before the day itself the hype starts with the first Christmas decorations in Tesco's from Early October and those bloody awful French perfume adverts that start to appear on our television screens "Eau de bollocks by laboritoire urine Paris" .

Perhaps I am getting old, but it seems to me to be so wrong that on a day to celebrate the Birth of someone very important, the advertisers, retailers and TV companies seem to concentrate very little on that fact, and instead choose to ram a cocktail of celebrity, repeats of films, sales, holidays and those god damn awful "list" programs (Elvis's top 100 Christmas songs).

Imagine if it was your birthday and hardly anyone bothered to say "Happy Birthday" to you, but instead made a ferking fortune selling loads of stuff in your name and for your special day, then ignored the whole point of what the day was actually about!

Hail to the New God of retail......after all, it's what Christmas is all about now,....isn't it?

The Frozen Ark Project.

.
This project is an attempt to prevent the total loss due to extinction of hundreds of species of animals and plants by storing their DNA for future generations.

On the face of it,it appears to be a very ambitious and noble idea...but sadly it is only necessary because of the destruction to the planet being caused by Humankind......a very disturbing thing to consider don't you think?

The Frog Died...and it was (sort of!) my fault!

During the weekend we bought another rabbit hutch to try and accommodate our ever increasing brood (is that the right term?) of floppy bunnies. Also at the weekend whilst installing the said hutch into the rear garden, we spotted our resident frog hiding amongst the long grass behind the 2 current hutches. Andy Jr loves anything like this, spiders,snails....frogs etc, and he was made up at having seen our "own" frog was still living in our back garden."How cool is that dad"? he said.

Later in the day I decided to give the Rocco a quick wash, along with our family MPV (which has now been sold and is awaiting pickup this weekend!), and after about an hour the deed was done and so i decided to have a nice cuppa and left the bucket with the sponge against the garage door intending to empty it later.

Roll on now to Monday evening. We have been out to Wicksteed park (see previous post!), and as the car has now been sold I decided that it needed a quick wheel wash to keep it looking spick and span for it's new owners. I picked up the bucket and sponge which was still waiting to be emptied from the previous car washing endeavor, and proceeded to give the wheels a once over to shift the dirt.

I first noticed a rather nasty smell, something like bad fish, after doing the first wheel, but decided it was just the old water in the bucket, so I continued. It wasn't until i felt something touch my hand that i felt suddenly concerned that there was more to the whiff of rotten fish than I first assumed.
I emptied the bucket out in the drain...and with the last bit of water...out popped..or rather, flopped, a very sorry looking (and very expired!) frog.
I guess that he(or she!) must have somehow managed to get into the bucket, either intentionally or accidentally, only to realise (too late!) that the water was full of car cleaning shampoo...and this, dear reader was how our friendly family frog ended up very clean, but sadly, also very deceased...and I honestly do feel very guilty about the whole affair.....almost as bad as when i left a bucket full of old engine oil out over the weekend after carrying out a lube on the Scirocco, only to discover the following week when i took it down to the recycling centre, that a bird had fallen in and (sorry!) drowned in my multigrade. But that is another rather sad story......
